INTERNAL & CHANGE COMMS

The strategy is set and things need to change.
But how?

You’ve slogged away on the business case for months and it’s finally been agreed. But you know far too well that getting it signed off and making it a reality are two different things. After all, people have a habit of not doing things when or how you'd like. They’re tricky like that.

We can help explain the change internally in a way people can understand, showing them how it affects them and encouraging them to engage with it. If you can bring people on side it’s incredible how quickly you can create change and what an impact it can have on an organisation.

So how does this work?

Most change works best when broken down from one large change to smaller, easier to manage actions. It’s key to the success of the programme that you include people in a collaborative approach rather than it being a diktat from up on high.

STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT

Reaching out and talking with those affected as early as possible is key to bringing them on the journey

MESSAGING

Stop looking at things from the viewpoint of the SLT, instead see how it affects those on the ground

COMMUNICATIONS

This is where it gets tactical and we look to change hearts and minds

ITERATION

Seeing what works best, taking on board feedback and constantly improving the programme

Programmes typically run from months to years, depending on the complexity and size of what you’re trying to achieve.

Internal & change comms FAQs

How much does a change comms programme cost?
The size and scope of a programme can be incredibly elastic, there is no typical one in our experience, but a budget of at least £75K should get you started.
HOW LONG DOES A TYPICAL PROGRAMME RUN FOR?
To be honest there isn’t really such a thing as a ’typical’ programme. As a rule, the bigger the change required, the longer it takes. The smallest of changes is likely to be 3+ months (from launch, not when we all start working on it), and larger programmes can easily run 12-36+ months (1-3 years in old money).
How do we know it’s actually working?
Before we even start we all need to agree on what exactly we’re looking to change over what timeframe and how we’re going to measure that. What metrics are we going to use for engagement and success? And what scale are we going to use for that? Whilst anecdotal evidence is great, hard stats tend to go down better with the SLT.
We’re international, can you work in multiple languages?
We will always create the master documents in English, but can then create localised versions using either your in-house people to translate or via specialist translation agencies. Over the years we’ve worked with most major languages, including the more difficult ones such as Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Russian, along with European ones such as French, German, Italian, Portuguese.
what’s the biggest hurdle in any programme?
A huge factor in the success of any programme is how it’s actually supported internally. Are there the teams and support there to help people really make the change and act as you’d like? Does everyone have access to the right tech that’s needed? Realistically is it possible for the wider company to do what you’re asking?

I started Endeavour with the idea that we could do things a little differently to other design agencies. I wanted us to be more than just the ‘colouring-in’ department; we’d see the bigger picture, understanding the client’s end goals and how we fit in. We’d take a long-term view, always looking out for our clients’ best interests. And we’d be nice people to work with, without all the agency aggro.

We encourage all staff to keep learning continuously, both through our studio's ever-growing library (which covers behavioural science, advertising, branding, design, marketing and business) and through relevant training like courses in finance and Mark Ritson’s MiniMBA in Marketing. The more we know, the more we can help you.
